Wherein the author completely screws up and then decides to read Chapter 2 as well…
I know it takes a stretch of the imagination, but yes, I screwed up. In my attempt to create a Pairs With Life audiobook free download, I completely misjudged the point where I broke up Part One and Part Two of Chapter 1. As it turns out, there were only three pages of the chapter remaining from where I stopped reading in last week’s episode. I’m sure this foretells that I will eventually die of Chronic Stupidity in a trailer park in Yuma, but I was sort of moving in that direction anyway.
So, instead of creating a five-minute podcast for Episode 13, I went ahead and read through Chapter 2 as well. Bonus! Will my publisher waterboard me for this? Potentially, but seeing as how it’s a long hot summer and trips to the beach are no longer allowed, I’m Ok with a little waterboarding. Just bring a bottle of Rosé to the session.
Pairs With Life Audiobook Extras!
I should say that the first two chapters featured in these podcasts will not be the final versions you hear in the audiobook. I am creating a more “produced” version with other voice actors playing the characters in the book. I’ll also be featuring some extras in the audiobook, such as three original songs from Corbett Thomas’ (the main character) band, Reality Star – including his #11 Alternative Rock song, Sensitive Ponytail Guy.
Or, maybe you’re not into a Pairs With Life audiobook free download. Maybe you’re into old-fashioned things like reading actual words on a page. If you’re into that sort of thing, the book is available in both paperback and hardcover on Amazon. If you’d rather pull your face off than watch Jeff Bezos get another dime, it’s also available from all these other fine online retailers.
Really enjoying the book so far! So many laugh out loud moments and phrases. As a result I get many quizzical looks from the husband. “Precious awake juice” has now been added to my vocabulary. Last night I read the part with the exam – whoa. Won’t reveal any spoilers here. How much of this is autobiographical…?
Mel! So glad you’re enjoying it! Thanks for signing up as an ARC reader 🙂 So, there are some pretty solid autobiographical moments in the book (write what you know, right?), and others that are pure fiction. But let’s just say that the exam scene is not autobiographical 😉
Really neat to come a cross your blog and check out your posts, I enjoyed reading your catchy writing.
Thanks, Calvin! I really appreciate it. I think you would find the book to be quite enjoyable then. I hope you’ll check it out!
